NORMAN FINKELSTEIN ARRESTED IN ISRAEL « Desertpeace
And the American academic Norman Finkelstein has been arrested and ordered deported from Israel. Finkelstein arrived in Tel Aviv earlier today on his way to the Occupied Territories. He was immediately detained and told he is banned from Israel for ten years. He’s expected to be deported tomorrow. Finkelstein is known one of the most prominent academic critics of Israel’s occupation of the West Bank and Gaza.

Well there are a number of people that speak out about the right-wing Israel Lobby all the time.

And more all the time. There is a lot of backlash in the American Jewish community with regards to the right’s dominance of the main lobbying organizations and their support of violence (versus Iraq, Iran, and the Palestinians) rather than constructive engagement.

All israel wants is to silence all truth and criticism of its aprtheid policies in Occupied West Bank and Gaza.

Nakba The Palestinian Catastrophe – What it is and why it is important…

May 19, 2008 · Leave a Comment

The 1948 Palestinian exodus (Arabic: al-Hijra al-Filasteeniya), referred to by most Palestinians and Arabs as the Nakba, meaning the “disaster”, “catastrophe”, or “cataclysm,” refers to the refugee flight of Palestinian Arabs during the last six months of the British Mandate of Palestine, the founding of the State of Israel, and the First Arab-Israeli War.

Benny Morris is the dean of Israeli ‘new historians’, who have done so much to create a critical vision of Zionism–its expulsion and continuing oppression of the Palestinians, its pressing need for moral and political atonement. His 1987 book, The Birth of the Palestinian Refugee Problem, chronicled the Zionist murders, terrorism, and ethnic cleansing that drove 600,000-750,000 Palestinians from their homes in 1948, thus refuting the myth that they fled under the orders of Arab leaders. A second edition of this book is due out this month, chronicling even more massacres, and a previously unsuspected number of rapes and murders of Palestinian women. Thus Morris continues to provide crucial documentation for Palestinians fighting the heritage of Al-Nakba, “The Catastrophe.”

Thomas Friedman Endorses Ron Paul Principles

May 6, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Thomas L. Friedman, who happens to be a famous freelance journalist, has written an article about the decline in America, and how the future is looking bleak, unless something radical changes are brought about.

Our president’s latest energy initiative was to go to Saudi Arabia and beg King Abdullah to give us a little relief on gasoline prices. I guess there was some justice in that. When you, the president, after 9/11, tell the country to go shopping instead of buckling down to break our addiction to oil, it ends with you, the president, shopping the world for discount gasoline.

He echoed Dr. Ron Paul’s words… “We are living on borrowed money and borrowed time…”

Even though he does not name Dr. Paul direcltly, it is very clear that the nation is waking up to the fact that this mismanagement, feeding the ever-growing monstrous Military-Industrial Complex will drown this country.

Who will tell the people? We are not who we think we are. We are living on borrowed time and borrowed dimes. We still have all the potential for greatness, but only if we get back to work on our country.

He exhorts people to save money, to create capital… just like Dr. Ron Paul has said.

We are a great power. How could we be borrowing money from Singapore? Maybe it’s because Singapore is investing billions of dollars, from its own savings, into infrastructure and scientific research to attract the world’s best talent — including Americans.
